Melba's excellent service and good seating arrangements are just toppings on the cake. Not only is there a mind-boggling variety of food on offer but, the quality is far superior to what you’d find at most buffets. That said though, a meal at China Bar doesn’t come cheap. There are three types of sashimi sliced to order, and the seafood on offer includes oysters, mussels, scallops, prawns, smoked salmon, and crab. This is the first time I’ve been here for lunch, but it’s good to see that aside from the duck and seafood, nothing seems to be missing.

Conservatory is indeed lovely, I do prefer the food at Melba though and would probably pay the extra to eat there for that reason.
The tart shell once again tasted a bit stale and crumbly, but the filling had a strong taste of coffee to it, which was nice. The mousse tasted strongly of green tea, but the red bean was tasteless and made the mousse a bit watery. Little dishes of poached chicken sat there ready to be topped with ginger sauce, chilli sauce, and shallots. This was actually really good, flavourful and tender. The sushi station, located right next to the fresh fruits.
A focus on fried stuff, use of MSG and the quality of the ingredients is rather average. For example in the photo above, them golden fried things at the top are described as "deep fried scallops". If you cut one in half, you'll see that it's actually made up of layers - much like how imitation crab sticks are made. This place has the worst service and off food, way overpriced and they push you out of the restaurant after 1 hr even when you have food on your plate, arrogant as well. There were a few more desserts that I tried, but didn’t get a photo of, and most of them were on about the same level as the rest, with the green tea opera cake and lemon tart standing out just a little. These desserts may have looked lovely, but they mostly tasted of cream and sugar and diabetes.

Not as spicy as the name suggests, its an easy dish to fall in love with and pairs well with vegetables for dipping or rice.
