Head north to go to Hole-in-the-Wall, where you get to see the sea stacks sitting along the coastline. ” and probably a photo of a Park Ranger holding his tiny “Bark Ranger” counterpart. But read the fine print and you’ll quickly find that dogs are only really allowed on paved road / paths and select campgrounds. At Kalaloch, we just call it one more reason to come visit us. Another addition to the list of things that Kalaloch offers? Gorgeous coast, beautiful hikes, sunsets like nowhere else, cozy cabins, great food, friendly faces, etc.
The Willotts were deeply engaged in the Kitsap Forest & Bay Coalition, which conserved 3,500 acres of forest open space land in Port Gamble, now the Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park. In 2022, they worked with Forterra on the campaign which successfully pets grooming near olympic park purchased timber rights on 756 acres to preclude further clear cut tree harvest. We can usually book your appointment within days. Our first visit may take longer as we are getting to know your pet and maintenance of your pet’s coat. Times are based on the size of the pet, coat condition, hair length, etc. (very hairy and/or large dogs understandably take longer). We follow strict grooming protocols and use specialized tools. We know that every dog is unique, which is why we take extra care to make sure that we are using the right tools and techniques for each individual dog. Our grooming protocols include everything from checking for fleas and ticks to trimming nails and cleaning ears.
The Coffee Club is a well-established casual chain known for its all-day breakfast, cafe lunches, and signature coffee blends. In Sydney Olympic Park, it's a popular spot to grab a quick breakfast and enjoy expertly brewed coffee. The menu features an extensive selection of coffee options as well as signature drinks like iced coffee in various flavors. Visitors rave about the delicious Eggs Benedict and express satisfaction with the quality of food and service.
The route follows the same path in reverse heading east to the starting point. Port Angeles has numerous grocery stores, a bike shop, and an outdoor gear store to stock up for supplies and food for the route. There are numerous streams along the route which make for easily accessible water. For those looking for a slightly more challenging version of the route to create a loop, check out Miles’ take on the Olympic Adventure Route here.
Many people enjoy going out onto the water during the summer and fall. Boat launches are located at both east and west ends of the lake. Rowboats are available for rental from Lake Crescent Lodge. Whether it's kayaking, sailing, or simply relaxing on the beaches and shores, Lake Crescent is a great place to visit. Lake Crescent has several hiking trails, some of which climb the surrounding mountains, and others that explore the lowland forests and creeks.
I do not recommend trying if you're in a large Class A. PARK FEATURES Dosewallips State Park is a 1,064-acre, year-round camping park with 5 miles of shoreline on Hood Canal and the Dosewallips River. All camp areas are grassy and located in scenic, rustic settings. Klahowya Campground is one of the lesser-known Lake Crescent camping options. This is likely because it is located about 10 minutes from the lake along the lovely Sol Duc River and Highway 101.
Every Oporto I've visited provides the Familia Feed, except this one. The staff advised they don't do it here, perhaps they missed the memo that franchises cater for the same, consistent menu. Workers appear unenthusiastic and cumbersome, you get more charisma from a self-serve Kiosk terminal. The store is filthy and unkept, staff reluctant to provide a decent clean. We ordered large fries which were delivered soggy and stale, so we got up and asked for a fresh batch and the staff deliberated for 5 mins about whether the exchange should be fulfilled. Owner should take a very good look at whether he/she should run this franchise and ruin the image of Oporto.
In the morning, you will wander through a magical rainforest while you spend the afternoon on the beach searching for sea life in tide pools. I recommend Port Angeles for the night you arrive at the park. You can rest from your travel day and buy groceries for the next few days.
Right on the other side of the national park road. Wether you have a beach view or not your spot will be amazing! The campground has 37 tent spaces, 58 utility sites, twelve cabins, one dump station, four restrooms , and two showers . During winter months , the campground is winterized and only sites have water. Guests may share space with the local elk herds that wander through camp. (Stay back 100 feet, and never offer food.) Bald eagles have been seen on the beach and great blue herons flock to the river.

Plus, two fantastic day-use areas with picnic sites, a picnic shelter, and comfort stations located throughout the park.
The location is great, the coffee was good but wasn't very hot. They did spend a lot of time trying to keep the bin chickens away but were failing. When placing our order, and reading from the menu on the counter, the staff member had no idea about what we were ordering. Maybe she was new but it took a couple of attempts and another staff member intervening to get it right.
I had the potato and pea gnocchi and really enjoyed the crispy kale on it. Glad I got the dessert (just make sure you're careful, could imagine chipping a tooth on the toffee). A popular activity is hiking the 11 miles to the lighthouse near the end of the spit. Be sure to pack food and water and check the tides before you go.
To stand in their presence is both humbling and mind boggling. A 3.5 mile round trip stroll where the beach is the hiking trail. Hiking to the top of Mount Storm King is one of the best things to do in Olympic National Park. The walk to Marymere Falls, discussed next, also starts at Lake Crescent.
