AMS Music Centre provides flexible, supportive lessons for adult learners. The focus is on personal goals and enjoyment, with formal assessments only included when students specifically request them. Students learn music from Foundation to Year 6 and have the opportunity to participate in Senior Choir, Junior Choir, String Ensemble, School Band and Drum Ensemble. Amongst these performance opportunities are our Student Recitals, which are usually held during June and November.
We hold these Pre School Music Classes either at the school or prestigious auditoriums such as the Ewing Memorial Uniting Church with a grand piano and excellent acoustics. On top of this, we provide Masterclasses and Performance Workshops for more serious students to get even more performance practice. Our Baby Gym classes are made to accommodate children of different abilities, from those who aren’t crawling yet to those who are walking, while still focusing on play  and parent-child relationships.

Research has shown that exposing babies and toddlers to music from an early age can have a profound impact on their cognitive, emotional, and social development. Each week we will have one new word and picture to strengthen child’s visualisation skill. Children are encouraged to bring their own related item  each week to class to enhance the fun learning. Regardless of whether one wishes to simply play songs that they like or want to prepare themselves for examinations, the content of the lessons are largely up to the decision of both the student and teacher. From the first visit my son was made welcome, and has felt like every class has been great – he’s always happy to attend. Music for Little Mozarts combines general musicianship activities with those that develop performance skills at the piano. Skills taught in the course focus on keyboard performance, listening, pitch matching, keyboard technique, singing, rhythm, movement, and music appreciation. The place is clean and always has different activities setup each week to further develop skills but also keeping each class exciting and challenging. My daughter is not yet 3 and understands lots of musical concepts like singing the scales, tempo, beat, rhythm and dancing to music. She also knows lots of percussion instrument names and plays them with enjoyment and handles them with care thanks to our weekly lessons. Since a child’s voice is still developing in this age group, it is recommended to only begin formal vocal training around the age of 10.Vocal and breathing exercises are still done in lessons at a basic level to not strain the voice at this age.
